Miller, a private in the U.S. Army stationed at Camp Claiborne in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, during World War II, to his fiancée and later wife Dorothy Northrup in Rochester, N.Y. Most of the materials pertain to the betrothal, marriage, and long distance relationship sustained by Miller and Northrup during this time.
