In it, she discusses her classes and students, including her disappointment that one of her students “has embraced the religion of the Romish church” (June 18, 1855). Moss also recounts her charitable work, shopping excursions in New Orleans, her reading habits, pieces she has written or plans to write for various periodicals, and the death of her younger sister in February 1855.
