He married Stella Currie, daughter of Malcolm M. Currie, a planter and former senator from Franklin County, Mississippi. Papers of George and Stella Norwood and related families include deeds and land grants in East Feliciana Parish and Franklin County, Mississippi. Correspondence and cotton trade records from Clinton to Port Hudson are included. Also included are the papers of Thomas W. Scott, judge of East Feliciana Parish, that pertain to the settlement of the estates of James Winter, William J. Boatner, James H. Cason, and G. W. Jelks. For further information, see online catalog.
