Plaquemine Lock, located in Plaquemine, La., is an early example of hydraulic engineering design on Bayou Plaquemine, an important navigable waterway that was once a distributary of the Mississippi River. These five photographic postcards provide different views of Plaquemine Lock during high water. Mss. 3839.
