Roy, V. L. (Victor Leander), 1871-1968. Volumes, 1894-1913 (bulk 1894-1904). 7 vols. Location: H:12. Native of Mansura, Louisiana, an early graduate of LSU, and a Louisiana educator for nearly forty-six years. Roy was Louisiana's first agriculture agent. He formed the Corn Club, a youth agriculture group which developed into the 4-H club. Collection consists of Roy's personal diary and notebooks. Entries in the diary are concerned primarily with his activities in New Orleans, and his attendance at Tulane Graduate School, Marksville Academy, and Southwestern Louisiana Institute. The diary also refers to family matters. Five notebooks contain notes for courses in physics and related subjects at Tulane University. For further information, see online catalog. Mss. 2225.
