Account book containing records kept by Rudman of his service as blacksmith for many prominent West Feliciana families. He also did work for the jail, newspaper, and courthouse. Correspondence from his nephew, Albert, principally concern with business interests in Eldorado, Arkansas, and New Orleans. Loose ledger sheets and picture writing cards of an unidentified Spanish immigrant and rural storekeeper of Lafourche Parish, La. The ledger sheets contain picture writing that employs symbols and codes to denote the type of good sold (e.g., eggs, hardware) and the quantity purchased by customers.
