  • Thomason, Matthew D. Diary, 1861-1863. 1 volume (contains 1 loose item), 1 microfilm reel. Location: MISC:T; MSS.MF:T. Itinerant Methodist minister assigned to the southeastern district of Louisiana, and later a farmer near Mobile, Alabama. Diary kept by Thomason records his work among whites and African Americans in Louisiana during the Civil War and his return to his native Alabama to farm.   • Thompson, Anna Boynton. Papers, 1909, 1919. 2 items. Location: MISC: T. Anna Boynton Thompson, teacher and student of philosophy, was born on September 10, 1848, in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Harriot Boynton (Sawyer) and William A. Thompson. Two documents of Anna Boynton Thompson, a will and a letter concerning property. The first document is the last will and testament of Anna Boynton Thompson dated February 8, 1909 from South Braintree, Massachusetts, which leaves most of her estate to her sister Mary Francis Thompson and is witnessed by Martha J Henderson and Hedwig M. Biewald. The second document is a letter from Ezra H. Balkner in the Radcliffe College Treasurer's Office in Boston, Massachusetts dated December 18, 1919 to Anna Boynton Thompson concerning annuities from property that her mother had owned. Mss. 822.

Photographs and glass plate negatives depicting 19th century Louisiana scenes, including the Mississippi River, Lake Pontchartrain, Bayou Lafourche, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge. There are also images of St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Charleston. Manuscript items consist of a clipping about Peggy Wood, a poem, a list of glass plate negatives, and a letter by General Robert E. Scrapbooks contain correspondence from soldiers, most of whom were from Iberia Parish. Letters describe military life, combat, and travel. Several letters inquire about family and friends. Scrapbooks contain clippings from Louisiana newspapers that provide biographical profiles of area servicemen and news about war casualties. The collection contains correspondence, legal papers, and financial records of the Turnbull family, including Turnbull's daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and James P. Bowman, and concern the operation of family plantations Rosedown and Bayou Grosse Tete, as well as to the family's experiences during the Civil War, the destruction of DeSoto Plantation, and Turnbull's war claims. Some papers of the related Pirrie and Gray families are included. Early documents reflect involvement of members of the Turnbull family in the fur trade in colonial Louisiana.
