Newton Crain Blanchard was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1880 where he served until 1893. He was governor of Louisiana from 1904 to 1908. Blatchford of Boston, Massachusetts concerning the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Massachusetts. The first, dated June 6, 1887, is from Reverend Frank Somerville Harraden stating that the "Board" has found it necessary to reduce funding for the fourth consecutive year. The second, dated November 12, 1888, is from Reverend Samuel Seymour Lewis regarding plans for the construction of a proposed church which had been changed from their previous design. Mss. 822.
