He was a veteran of World War I and graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in agriculture in 1918. Badon discusses early life and education in St. Martinville, his experiences as a cadet at LSU, as a county agent, and as a teacher, coach, and principal. He tells of anthrax vaccinations, introduction of fertilizer in sugar cane farming, and the spead of information in rural areas.
