Letter describes in detail Pease's voyage on a transport ship from Boston to New Orleans and comments on his living quarters at Camp Kearney, New Orleans; General Banks; and his headquarters.   • Peck, Charles. Letters, 1834-1840. 3 items. Location: Misc.: P. Letters to Charles C. Peck of Natchez, Miss., from business associates in New York, N.Y., pertain to their commercial interests, cotton trade, shipping, and the transfer of funds. Letters also comment the possible loss of a steamer in route from Liverpool, England to New York and a fire on board the steamer "Lexington" that killed all but three passengers and destroyed the ship. Union major general active in the defense of Washington, the Peninsular Campaign, and the Department of Virginia and North Carolina during the Civil War. William Parker Snow was an English explorer and author. Letter to Snow refers to Snow's book SOUTHERN GENERALS. Attached to the letter is newsclipping followed by comments on it by Snow. French aristocratic family that emigrated from France to Haiti during the early years of the nineteenth century, and later moved to New Orleans. Pierre Paul and Pierre Francois Pecquet married two sisters, and lived in France and Louisiana. Writings are comprised of family histories, correspondence, and regalia of the Pecquet du Bellet de Verton and Kariouk family; and memoirs that detail historical and political events which surrounded the family from 1793-1989.
