Kneeland, Ira. Land surveys, 1806. 2 land surveys. Location: MISC:K. Ira Cook Kneeland was born in Massachusetts. He was deputy land surveyor for Vicente Sebastian Pintado in Louisiana. He died around 1812. Includes two surveys by Ira Kneeland for parcels in New Feliciana by order of the Governor of Baton Rouge. One survey is for Isaac Johnson's property dated from October 16, 1806, and the second is for John Barnhill's property dated December 20, 1806. Mss. 5131.

Trudeau, Charles Laveau, approximately 1750-1816. Land surveys, 1794-1800. 3 land surveys. Location: MISC:T. Charles Laveau Trudeau (Carlos Laveau Trudeau) was appointed surveyor general of Spanish Louisiana in the early 1780s. He resigned in 1805. The Charles Laveau Trudeau land surveys include three surveys (in Spanish) dating 1794, 1799, and 1800 created by Charles Laveau Trudeau. The areas surveyed include the Natchez District of Don Juan Oconor (1794) and Feliciana District of Frederico Kimball el Joven (1799). The 1794 survey was signed by Francisco Luis Hector de Carondelet. Mss. 5132.

Trudeau, Charles. Land survey, 1795. 1 land survey. Location: MISC:T. Surveyor general of Spanish Louisiana in the early 1780s and served in that capacity to 1805. Survey (in Spanish) of the land of George Forman of the Natchez District. Forman's land was bounded by that of William Ervin, Richard Willis, and J. Johnston. The survey shows land boundaries and the location of trees. Mss. 4815.

MISC:L. The Louisiana State University Geology Field Camp opened in 1928 in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, south of Colorado Springs, giving geology, geophysics, and petroleum engineering students an opportunity for field study. Three photographs show groups of students at the LSU Geology Field Camp in 1940, 1942, and 1945. There is also a typed list for each year with the names of the students in the photographs. Mss. 5215.

Description
Hyslop, John. Correspondence, 1868. 2 letters. Location: Misc.: H. Two letters written to John Hyslop of Manchester, England. In the first letter written to his parents, James Douglas Hyslop relates his experiences while traveling in the United States, in search of employment. He tells about his illness, working on the railroad, mining for gold in California, and working at Harlem Plantation (Aug. 1, 1868). In a letter to John Hyslop, John M. Davidson informs him that his son, James, died of yellow fever (Sept. 6, 1868). Both letters were written from Harlem Plantation in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. Mss. 5218.
