  • Fourrier, Henri, and Joseph Amedee Fourrier. Papers, 1838-1915, undated 240 items, 5 vols. Location: 65:33, OS:33. Henri Fourrier was a French composer and graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in Paris. His son, Joseph Fourrier, was organist of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baton Rouge and director of the Fourrier Concert Band. Papers of Henri Fourrier include a bookplate (1838) from the Institution Royale des jeunes avengles, in Paris; and sacred musical scores composed and copied by him.   • Fox, Frank Cleveland, 1892-1982. Scrapbook, 1917-1980. 1 v., 20 items. Location: Mf. Frank Cleveland Fox of Rosedale, La., was drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1917 and trained with the 114th Field Signal Battalion at Camp Beauregard, La. The scrapbook contains personal letters, photographs, and military forms and records documenting Fox's service in the U.S. Army during World War I.   • Franklin, Benjamin Cromwell, 1805-1873. Brief, 1851. 1 brief. Location: MISC:F. Benjamin Cromwell Franklin was an attorney, judge, and legislator in Texas. The Benjamin Cromwell Franklin brief consists of one legal brief documenting the case of Nathaniel Bailey vs. Rachael Hicks. Rachael C. Hicks was sued for balances on accounts for supplies for her family, composed of William C. Hicks, her two daughters, two nieces, and some African Americans. Rachael was relieved from the charges because the purchases were made with the understanding that the accounts were being credited to a third party, Thomas Hicks of Louisiana. Mss.5129.

Letters written from Chimborazo Hospital, Richmond, Virginia, and Pratt Hospital, Lynchburg, Virginia, to Franklin's wife, S. W. Franklin ('Sookey'), describing conditions in the hospitals.   • Fraude, Wolfgang. Elegy, circa 1943. 1 item. Location: Misc. German soldier killed during the battle on the beachhead of Salerno, Italy, in September 1943. Typed manuscript signed with initials found by an American soldier. An original composition, in poetic prose, it deals with an episode which tests and reaffirms the comradeship between three soldiers. In German with English translation. Collection includes technical reports compiled while Freeland was working for W. R. Grace & Co. and USAID, as well as pamphlets, notes, and printed articles related to the sugarcane, bagasse, and biofuel industries. Professional and personal correspondence, and photographs of W. R. Grace & Co. activities in Guyana, Ecuador, Pakistan, Israel, Taiwan, Colombia, and other countries are included. There are also personal photographs of Freeland during his travels, and of his family in Louisiana, as well as drafts and other material from "The History of the Book of Common Prayer up to 1662" and "Tales of a Sugar Tramp."   • Freemasons. Feliciana Lodge No. 31 (St. Francisville, La.). Records, 1840-1966 (bulk 1900-1958). 9 linear feet, 31 volumes. Location: W:98-105, OS:F, J:29-31. Feliciana Lodge No. 31 (St. Francisville, Louisiana) was originally organized and chartered under the authority of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky in 1817 as Feliciana Lodge No. 46 and was the first English speaking lodge in the state outside of New Orleans. The Grand Lodge of the State of Mississippi was established in Natchez, Miss., on July 27, 1818. This certificate naming the officers of the Grand Lodge of the State of Mississippi for the year 1825 bears the signatures of the following officers: Israel Loring, Grand Master; Elijah Smith, Deputy Grand Master; Joseph Dunbar, Senior Grand Warden; and John A. Quitman, Junior Grand Warden. Mss. 5044.

St. James Lodge was formed in 1844 and operates under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana, New Orleans. Records include minutes, membership files, financial records, and correspondence between St. James and other lodges and related societies (such as Knights Templar and Odd Fellowships) throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada.   • Frellsen, Henry and Family. Collection, ca. 1836-1984. 0.25 linear ft. Location: B:7. Hans Hinrich Frellsen, later known as Henry Frellsen, was born in Flensburg, Denmark, on April 1, 1803. He participated in the liberation of Greece in the 1820s and later was a merchant, ship-owner, and estate owner in Denmark. Frellsen immigrated to Louisiana and founded the town of Copenhague in Caldwell Parish. He later was a businessman and Danish consul in New Orleans and owner of Fairview Plantation in St. Charles Parish. Henry Frellsen died in New Orleans on Sept. 17, 1884. Collection consist of photocopied documents concerning the ancestors and descendants of Henry Frellsen. Mss. 3872.
  • Frellsen, Henry, ca. 1800-1884. Plantation diary, 1878-1884. 1 vol. (101 pages). Location: G:17. Native of Denmark who fought in the Greek War of Independence (1824) and moved to Louisiana (ca. 1840). He was the Danish Consul in New Orleans, a cotton factor, and the owner of Fairview Plantation, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. Entries document Frellsen's operation of Fairview Plantation. Weekly reports detail crop and weather conditions; record maintenance of a sugarhouse, machinery, and levees; and list farmhands (including children) and their wages.
