Scott, Eva and family. Papers, 1832-1959 (bulk 1870-1945). 1.25 linear ft., 10 volumes. Location: Y:101-102, H:10. Eva Scott was an owner of The Shades Plantation in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. She lived on the plantation with her aunt, Kate Scott. Papers include correspondence (1866-1877) written to Bettie Gordon Scott and family papers (1892-1900). Papers (1900-1959) include correspondence of Eva and Kate Scott. Cards and letters of Lyle Saxon and Sherwood Anderson are included. Business papers (1853-1941) pertain to the administration of The Shades Plantation. Manuscript volumes include 5 ledgers (1889-1913) recording supplies and wages paid to hired laborers. The Bellemont Motor Hotel was a plantation-style hotel and convention center on Airline Highway in Baton Rouge, LA. The hotel was built in 1946 by developer A. C. Lewis and his partner, Jamar Adcock. The collection consists of hotel office files with information on advertising, rates and listings, guest services, staff and employees, invoices and service agreements, hotel inventories, promotional plans, and other documents relating to the hotel’s operation. Description
Harding Field Heroes File, 1941-1946 (bulk 1944-1945). 2.5 linear feet. Location: 78:48-50, OS:H, Room 304. Harding Field was a United States Army Air Corps base located nine miles north of Baton Rouge, La., that operated between 1941 and 1945. From February 1944 to March 1945, Colonel W.G. Schauffler Jr. (1891-1951) was the commanding officer at Harding Field. In June 1944, Col. Schauffler was informed that his only son had been killed in action over the Pacific theater which led directly to the development of the Harding Field Heroes File. The collection includes letters, photographs, and newspaper clippings solicited by Col. Schauffler and sent by next of kin of pilots who graduated from Harding Field. The collection also contains newspaper clippings about the airbase which range from the establishment of the base in 1941 to its decommissioning in 1945. It contains 51 photographs of groups of pilots, individual portraits, and pinning ceremonies. It also contains a casualty list and a painting with the "72 Fighter Wing" emblem. Mss. 0893.

Description
Fordyce Lumber Company. Records, 1904, 1920-1962. 70 microfilm reels. Location: MSS.MF:F. Dr. John Wenzel Watzek, Charles Warner Gates, and Edward Savage Crossett founded the Fordyce Lumber Company at Fordyce, Dallas County, Arkansas in 1890. In the same year and as part of the same investment, the Fordyce & Princeton Railroad Company was organized and laid a track from the Cotton Belt Railroad System to the Fordyce mill one mile away. When the mill was opened the track was extended northward from the mill into the timber for a distance of 221 miles for the purpose of hauling logs. The Fordyce Lumber Company was acquired by Georgia-Pacific Corporation in 1963. Microfilm copies of land books, indexes to deeds, Fordyce Lumber Company general ledgers and journals, stockholders' journals and ledgers, plant ledgers, Fordyce & Princeton Railroad Company journals and ledgers, abstracts, stock certificates, tax receipts, minutes, stockholders' estates, C.
