Interviewer: And after you graduated from twelfth grade what did you do?
Mary Borne: I went to… When I graduated there was a big depression, and I knew my dad had taken all these others through college, and I knew that it was going to be a hardship. He and mama were getting older then. So I saw in the paper this business school for just a hundred dollars. So I asked my daddy if I could go there, and he said, “Sure, but I’m going to have to take you the first day, to see if they’ll take ten dollars a month, because there’s really not much cash.” It was a big depression at that time.
