Is this really us?
MARY WILLIAMS WAGNER by Karly Johnson, 2017
JOHNSON: How did you find out that you are a descendant of the GU272?
?
WAGNER: [36:11] I think I found out later than some of the others. I didn’t know anything about it until like, April of last year. So it’s only . . . It hasn’t even been a full year yet. But I found out because my brother Earle in Atlanta, was sending me an email. I think he found out from another cousin. And he started sending just an email with a link in it, and it didn’t say what it was. So I ignored it the first couple times I got his email. And he would say, “Did you read the email?”
?
And I would say, “Mmm.”
?
And then he finally called and said, “Listen, you need to read this!” And so once he called, and I stared reading it I was like, well oh my God! Oh my God, what is this? Is this really us? Because it had the direct connection of Hawkins and you know, that was my mother’s maiden name. I knew right away that there was something there. Something real, and that this was us. As the daughter of her daughter. They were talking about us! Link to Biography
