The reality of the American Chattel System of Slavery.
Mélisande Short-Colomb by Hannah Richards, 2017
We as descendants. While it is very benevolent to say we are a part of the Georgetown family, we weren’t enough family to not get sold! You know, while they were very, very concerned about our eternal souls, they really had no problem selling our physical selves. That is a reality of the American chattel system of slavery. One that we are still grappling with today as a society on the whole and individuals as well. Link to Biography
