A dark part of our history
RASHAAD JACKSON by Staci Shelby on April 5, 2017
The Jesuits are a specific group and then the Georgetown Jesuits are a subgroup of them, right? And it’s not like the order came down from the Pope to sell the slaves. And if I’m not mistaken, the church in general was not happy about it after it happened. So you have that. But too, you have to remember that Baptist churches, Protestant churches of all denomination, non-religious people all sold and bought human chattel. It is a dark part of our history that we’ll probably never fully address because, why? Because it would make people feel bad and better. So, not happy about it--the sale, or really slavery in general, especially the way it was conducted in the United States. Link to Biography
