Outreach should include educational opportunities
MÉLISANDE SHORT-COLOMB by Hannah Richards, 2018
Sure. I would like to see the Jesuits do a bit more outreach in descendant communities; especially communities where there are large compilations of descendants. Let’s start building those relationships and educational opportunities for those children as well. What is a reparation? Is it money in a person’s hand, or is it value in kind? Nobody could give me enough money for me to come here and paid to do this. I would like to see this opportunity [attend university] within the framework of what the Jesuits do. They provide great education across the country, and the world. So, within the framework of what they do, in terms of suspended tuition in high schools, in elementary schools partnering to raise funds with descendant groups. Can anybody pay me for my family and them being sold? No. There’s no money for that. I can’t even factor that into a dollar amount. For me. Link to Biography
